– Galileo Galilei
Elson’s journey with Carecam began with a deeply personal experience. Witnessing his grandmother’s struggles during her recovery from a serious fall and subsequent knee replacement surgery, Elson recognized the gaps in existing rehabilitation methods. Despite the advancements in technology, access to effective monitoring tools remained limited to expensive laboratory settings.
Motivated by the challenges his grandmother faced, Elson envisioned a solution to improve the rehabilitation process. He conceptualized Carecam, a platform designed to provide clinicians with a more precise and quantitative way to monitor recovery progress. Traditional methods relied heavily on subjective assessments and basic scoring tests, lacking the accuracy and efficiency needed for effective rehabilitation.
Driven by a desire to revolutionize this approach, Elson partnered with Raman, who would later become Carecam’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Their collaboration began during an industrial project, where Elson recognized Raman’s technical expertise as a perfect fit for his vision. Together, they combined their skills and insights to develop Carecam, laying the groundwork for a groundbreaking digital screening tool in healthcare.
