3DGait is an iPad application from CareCam that uses Vision AI to analyse and quantify human body motion, providing insights into gait patterns and mobility. It reconstructs movement in three dimensions from a single camera, with no markers or wearable sensors.

Using the camera and sensors of an iPad Pro, 3DGait captures a person walking and analyses the movement on the device. It then generates a report and visualisations, allowing clinicians and researchers to study gait and track change over time.

In the validation published in the Journal of Biomechanics, 3DGait was compared with marker-based motion capture. Joint angles showed an average mean absolute error of 2.3°, with a Pearson correlation of 0.75, and timings were within 0.03 seconds.
